Approach and anchoring
Approach from the open lake into the narrows between Split Rock Point and Four Brothers Islands. Minimum depth at the visitor dock is around 3.6 metres. No tide, but strong northerly winds can build a short steep chop on the lake.
Practical
Around 40 berths plus 6 mooring buoys and a transient dock up to 100 feet. Petrol and diesel, 30 and 50 amp shore power, fresh water, ice, pumpout, showers, laundry, wifi. Two marine railways and two guest houses on site.
Ashore
Historic village of Essex within walking distance, with shops, restaurants and the Charlotte-Essex ferry landing. Landlock salmon, bass and lake trout fishing in the surrounding waters.
