Approach and anchoring
Converse Bay indents the Vermont shore south-west of Charlotte and is known as an all-weather anchorage, though a boat may need to shift with the wind to keep shelter. The holding is mud through a layer of weed, so check the anchor is well set. A Vermont Fish and Wildlife boat ramp stands on Cedar Beach Road.
Practical
No facilities at the anchorage itself. Point Bay Marina lies 0.7 nm S with a fuel dock, fresh water, shore power, showers and a pump-out, and a full-service yard handling boats to 75 feet. Essex Marina is 3 nm NW.
Ashore
Converse Bay is a noted birding spot, with hardwood forest and wetland margins giving habitat for waterfowl, raptors and songbirds.
