Approach and anchoring
Inside Shelburne Bay, well sheltered from north and south winds by the surrounding shore. Approach from the main lake by rounding Shelburne Point. No tide; lake levels vary seasonally.
Practical
106 berths, fuel berth, pump-out, showers, full boatyard with travel lift, year-round repair shop and winter storage on hard. Operated by Safe Harbor Marinas since 2019.
Ashore
Shelburne Museum, with the steamer Ticonderoga preserved on land as a National Historic Landmark, sits 4 km from the marina. Shelburne Farms, a 1400-acre working farm and education centre on the lake, is 3 km away.
History
The Champlain Transportation Company founded the shipyard in 1820 and launched twelve lake steamers here between 1825 and 1906, the last being the 261-foot Ticonderoga, now preserved at Shelburne Museum.
