Free city dock at Vergennes Falls Park, on the south bank of Otter Creek below the falls in Vergennes, Vermont.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Reached by Otter Creek, navigable for about 7 miles up from Lake Champlain. The creek is narrow and shallow with hazards, so motor up slowly. The Falls Park berths on the south side carry more depth than the dock across the creek. Maximum draught about 5 metres.
Practical
Free first-come, first-served berths. No fuel on the dock. Vergennes Falls Park has fishing spots, picnic areas, grills and walking trails along the creek.
Ashore
Downtown Vergennes lies a short walk away, with shops and restaurants set among 19th-century buildings. The falls drop over a rock ledge in the centre of town, visible from the Main Street bridge.
