Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach is clear from the north off York Narrows. Work south into the small harbour until the sounder reads about 15 to 20 feet, then anchor over mud, which gives good holding. The basin is narrow and feels full with more than three or four boats. It shelters from west through south to southeast.
Ashore
Buckle Island is part of the Maine Island Trail. Cruisers may land and walk the shore trails, but the adjoining Spruce Island is closed. No camping is permitted and visitors must carry out all they bring.
