Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approached from East Penobscot Bay between Little Deer Isle and the mainland. The cove on the south-east side of Pickering Island gives good holding in mud and shelter from north through west to south-west. It lies open to the east, so swell can work in on a fresh easterly.
Practical
No facilities ashore. Billings Diesel and Marine lies 4.2 miles to the south-west for fuel and repairs, and Buck's Harbour Marina is 9.6 miles to the north-west.
