Guide
Approach and anchoring
The cove opens between north-west and south-east, sheltered from the east but exposed to a southerly swell rolling in off the bay. Sound in carefully towards the head, as the bottom carries weed in places and holding can be uneven where the anchor finds grass rather than sand.
Practical
Sand gives fair holding where it is clear of weed; check the anchor is well set. No facilities at the cove. Hinckley Marina, a full-service yard, lies 9.6 nautical miles to the north, and Dyserts South Harbor 9.8 nautical miles to the north, both around the Mount Desert Island shore.
