Approach and anchoring
Coastal approach between Port Pothuau and the mouth of the Gapeau river. Mind the rocky patches close to shore, drop the anchor on the sand clear of the posidonia meadows. Shelter from N, NE, W and NW winds; rolls in any S or SE sea.
Practical
Forain mooring, no services. Port Pothuau 0.2 NM NE for the nearest pontoon, water and diesel. Port du Gapeau 0.3 NM W at the river mouth offers additional visitor berths. Hyères town centre 4 km by road.
Ashore
Sentier du littoral along the Salins d'Hyères, a Natura 2000 wetland with flamingos and egrets. Les Vieux Salins saltworks trail starts 1 km inland. Beach restaurants open from May to September along the Route du Sel.
