Small harbour on the north shore of the rade d'Hyères, east of the Salins d'Hyères, in Provence.

Guide

Approach and anchoring

Approach from the rade d'Hyères, entrance between the two short jetties. Shallow depths inside, suitable for small craft. Exposed to southerly winds that raise a swell at the entrance. Port Gapeau at 0,3 NM SE and Port Pothuau at 0,7 NM E provide alternative shelter.

Practical

Service station with fuel near the harbour. Small shops in the village of Les Salins d'Hyères, supermarket in Hyères-les-Palmiers at 4 km.

Ashore

Salins d'Hyères salt pans, a Natura 2000 site for bird watching with flamingos present most of the year, immediately north of the port. Sentier du littoral runs east toward the plage de la Badine and the Presqu'île de Giens. Market at Hyères-les-Palmiers on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings.
