Approach and anchoring
Approach from the south with the wind in the NW quadrant. Seabed is sand and rock: set the anchor on a sand patch and check the set on the chain. Sheltered from NW, N, and W. Open from the E round to the S.
Practical
Ten berths reported at the anchorage. Port Gapeau 0.2 NM NE for fuel, water, and a capitainerie. Port de Miramar called Portland 0.4 NM N as a second option.
Ashore
Mouth of the Gapeau river and salt marshes of the Vieux Salins d'Hyeres about 1 km east, a protected coastal site managed by the Conservatoire du littoral. Flat cycling along the coast towards Hyeres town.
