Sand anchorage on the south shore of the Crozon peninsula in the Bay of Douarnenez, Brittany.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the south-east, clear of the cliffs of Cap de la Chèvre to the west. Sand holding. Protection from N, NW, W and SW winds which are blocked by the peninsula. Open to E and SE swell. No lit marks, day approach recommended. Strong tidal streams run offshore in the Iroise, slacker inshore.
Practical
No facilities. Nearest harbour is Morgat 3.3 NM NE with water, diesel and visitor berths, then Camaret-sur-Mer Bassin du Nautique 6.4 NM N via the Toulinguet passage.
Ashore
The GR 34 coastal path runs along the cliffs above the anchorage and reaches the tip of Cap de la Chèvre in 4 km. Beach walking on the sand of the cove, inside the Parc Naturel Régional d'Armorique.
