Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the south, steering clear of the rocky spurs off the Punta di Campomoro to the north. The cala is small and narrow with room for only a handful of boats and tight swinging room, so the anchor must be well set. Drop on the large sand patch in the centre in 8 to 10 m, where holding is good, avoiding the posidonia where holding is poor and anchoring is restricted under Corsican rules. Shelter from N, NE, E, W and NW, exposed to the south, and it rolls in a W or SW swell even when the wind is off the land; some lay a stern anchor to hold the bow to the swell, though it can foul on rock.
Practical
No services at the anchorage. Tizzano lies 1.4 NM N with a small fishing harbour, a grocer and a seasonal restaurant. Port de Propriano 9.6 NM N has full services with fuel, water, capitainerie on VHF 9 and around 450 berths.
Ashore
The Sentier du Littoral runs north towards Tizzano along the granite coast, about 1 NM on foot. Genoese tower of Campomoro at 4 NM N, one of the largest on the Corsican coast, 17 m high, built in the 1580s.
