Approach and anchoring

Approach from the SW between the Iles Bruzzi to the N and the rocks off Cap de Senetosa to the S. Enter on a mid-line course clear of the rocky sides. Depths shoal sharply towards the small harbour, little more than a metre off its entrance, and deep-keeled boats have run aground, so keep off and clear of the powerboat channel out of the port. Anchor off the sea wall on sand in about 3 m, where holding is good. Shelter from N through E to SE; fully exposed to the libeccio from SW and W, which sends swell straight into the bay.

Practical

No services on the anchorage. Tender to the small fishing quay of Tizzano 0,1 nm SW for a couple of restaurants and a summer grocer. Port de Propriano, 8,3 nm north, is the nearest all-weather harbour with fuel, water and full chandlery.

Ashore

Genoese tower of Tizzano on the headland east of the cove, 16th century. The restaurant Chez Antoine by the quay is known for fresh fish, though prices are high. Sentier du littoral links Tizzano to the Cap de Senetosa lighthouses in about 8 km south. Prehistoric site of Cauria with its alignments and dolmen of Funtanaccia, 7 km inland by road.
