Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the west in daylight on sight, watching for isolated rocks off the headlands either side of the cove. A narrow bottleneck leads in to a beach; depths inside fall to only 1 to 2 metres, so the pool suits shallow-draught craft and motorboats. Deeper-draught yachts should moor on two anchors, fore and aft, in the passage, or anchor just outside the bottleneck. Leave promptly if the wind backs into the W or NW.
Practical
Anchorage only, no facilities ashore. Holding on sand, shelter from NE through SE to SW. Exposed to W and NW swell. Nearest refuge is Tizzano 4.3 NM SE, Porto Pollo 6.7 NM N.
Ashore
Undeveloped coastline of the Sartenais. Coastal footpath of the Mare e Monti Sud runs inland. Prehistoric site of Cauria with the Palaghju alignment of standing stones lies about 4 km inland from Tizzano.
