Guide
Approach and anchoring
Good holding in sand. The tidal range was 8 to 9 m at springs in July 2025. Lay enough chain for high water. In late July 2025 there was ample room to anchor while Dixcart Bay was crowded. In N to NW winds at springs that month the bay rolled hard, easing only around low water.
Ashore
Dinghies land at Dixcart Bay. At low water the dinghy has to be hauled about 100 m up the beach. A 20-minute walk through the woods leads to the village. The path is pitch dark at night, so take a light.
