Full-service marina on Myer Creek off the Corrotoman River, in Lancaster County, Virginia, about 12 NM up from the mouth of the Rappahannock and the Chesapeake Bay.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
From the Chesapeake Bay, enter the Rappahannock between Stingray Point and Windmill Point and head upstream. Turn into the Corrotoman River and pick up Myer Creek on the western bank. The creek carries enough water for cruising sailboats, with reports of 8 ft draught reaching the docks without trouble.
Practical
Around 100 slips for monohulls and catamarans up to 65 ft, with a 112 ft face dock for larger yachts. Full boatyard with a 40-ton travel lift and 30-ton hydraulic trailer for haul-out, bottom work and engine jobs. Saltwater pool, fire pits and two on-site restaurants, The Black Duck on the waterfront and The Shack by the pool.
Ashore
Quiet rural setting on the Northern Neck, no village within walking distance. Kilmarnock town centre with shops and groceries is about 7 miles by road. Christ Church, a 1735 colonial-era brick church, stands 5 miles north-west.
