Approach and anchoring
On the Virginia bank of the Potomac off the George Washington Memorial Parkway, below Washington, DC. Approach the marked channel; berths take vessels up to about 35 ft. Seven transient slips among 679 total.
Practical
Water and land boat storage, a public ramp, sailboat rentals from spring to autumn and year-round bike hire. The marina store stocks chandlery and supplies, and the Catboat Pizza Bar serves food and drinks.
Ashore
The 106-acre Daingerfield Island park surrounds the marina, with the Mount Vernon Trail running through it for walking and cycling. Old Town Alexandria lies a short ride south along the trail.
History
The marina hosts the Potomac River Sailing Association, whose certified sailing programme is among the largest on the US East Coast, along with the Georgetown University Sailing Team.
