Approach and anchoring
Entered from the Potomac off Hains Point and up the Washington Channel, unmarked above Hains Point with midchannel controlling depths near 8 to 11 feet. The whole channel is a posted no-wake zone.
Practical
Transient and seasonal berths on floating docks. Shore power, fresh water, in-slip pumpout and a fuel berth. Heads with showers, a laundry, a ship store with ice and bait. Grocers, restaurants and hardware shops along the promenade.
Ashore
The Municipal Fish Market sits next to the marina. The Smithsonian museums of the National Mall are about 1 km north on foot, and the Tidal Basin with its memorials is a similar distance northwest.
