Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the east after rounding Er Yoc'h islet. Keep clear of the drying rocks off the northern headlands. Sand bottom holds well, depths of 3 to 6 metres at low water. Sheltered from N, NE and E winds, fully exposed from SW to W. Port Saint-Gildas lies 0.7 nm to the north if the wind backs.
Practical
No mooring buoys, drop anchor on sand clear of posidonia patches. No services on the beach. Nearest water, fuel and bins at Port Saint-Gildas. Summer regulation by the Parc naturel marin du mor Braz, check the current anchoring zones before dropping.
Ashore
Treac'h Salus beach is one of the long white-sand strands of Houat, open to swimmers. Coastal path links it north to the village of Houat in roughly 25 minutes on foot, with a bakery, grocery and two cafés around the church square. Fort d'Er Yoc'h ruins sit above the eastern headland.
