Approach and anchoring

Approach from the Bay of Quiberon along the south shore of the Rhuys peninsula. The outer anchorage lies off the small harbour of Saint-Gildas. VHF 9. Fully exposed to winds with a northerly component, move inside the harbour or seek shelter in bad weather.

Practical

17 anchoring spots with water available. Port de Saint-Gildas 0.2 NM west for berthing and services. Port de l'Argol 4.3 NM SE on the Rhuys peninsula.

Ashore

Village of Saint-Gildas-de-Rhuys 500 m inland with the abbey church of the eleventh century founded by monks of the Breton saint Gildas. Coastal path GR 34 passes above the harbour.
