- Harbour
Member-run yacht club with about 45 slips on the west bank of the Anacostia River in southeast Washington, DC.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Reached from the lower Anacostia along Boathouse Row, upstream of the Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge. The river is well marked but shoal-prone outside the channel, so favour low water with caution. The club is private, so visiting crews should call ahead.
Practical
Roughly 45 slips and a clubhouse, with a membership focused on boating safety and family use. Provisioning is limited on site; central DC shops lie a short drive away.
History
The club took over the former District Boat Company boatyard in the early 1950s. The clubhouse, a converted Army building, burned down in December 2016 and the club rebuilt afterwards.
