Approach and anchoring
Approach from the south, keeping clear of the rocky fringe off the shore. Sand bottom with good holding. Sheltered from SE, S and SW winds, exposed to N and E.
Practical
No services at the anchorage. Port de Saint-Gildas, the island's only harbour, is 0.5 NM to the W with water, bins and small shops. Port de l'Argol on Île d'Hoedic is 4.1 NM to the SE.
Ashore
Sandy beach backed by low dunes. Houat village and the church of Saint-Gildas are within 1 km on foot. The island's coastal path, roughly 12 km around, passes directly above the anchorage.
