Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the south along the red porphyry cliffs of the Estérel. Round the Saint-Barthélemy rock, leave the danger well to port, and anchor east of it in 5 to 10 metres on sand with patches of posidonia. Drop the hook on bare sand to spare the seagrass, which is protected. Sheltered from NW round to E, exposed to the south.
Practical
No facilities at the anchorage. Port de la Figueirette 2.4 NM NE and Port d'Agay 2.6 NM W both have fuel and water. The port d'Agay, set in a round bay, is the closest full stopover.
Ashore
The Sentier du littoral runs between the calanque d'Anthéor and Agay across the red rock of the Estérel. The massif is a classified site and a Natura 2000 area. The railway viaduct of Anthéor, built in 1863 and rebuilt after 1944, crosses the coast at the head of the anchorage.
