Full-service marina at Georgetown on the Sassafras River, in the upper Chesapeake Bay, Maryland, with 200 berths on floating docks and covered sheds.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Reached from the Chesapeake Bay by following the marked Sassafras River channel to Georgetown, where the river narrows between Cecil and Kent counties. The marina sits on the south bank by the Route 213 bridge. Sheltered water with no significant tidal range.
Practical
Berths take boats from 30 to 60 ft, with water and shore power. There is a fuel berth selling diesel and petrol, open daily in season, a chandlery, a swimming pool and an activity centre. The Harbour Cafe restaurant is on site. A boatyard handles repairs and yacht sales.
Ashore
Georgetown village shops sit within walking distance of the docks. The Granary restaurant is on the riverfront opposite the marina, reached by water taxi or the road bridge.
