Family-run marina in the sheltered cove of Duffy Creek off the Sassafras River at Georgetown, Maryland, 8.5 miles upriver from the Chesapeake Bay.

Approach and anchoring
Enter the Sassafras River from the Chesapeake Bay and follow it about 8.5 miles to Georgetown, then turn into Duffy Creek. The cove is wind and wake protected year round. No significant tidal range on this stretch.
Practical
There are 120 berths, most with drive-up access, plus a double launching ramp and overnight parking. Facilities include heated showers, laundry, a ship store, fuel berth and pump-out. A boatyard with a 35-ton travel lift handles haul-out and repairs. A pool, beach and picnic areas sit by the water.
History
The marina was founded in 1955 by Reds and Mary Eldridge. In 1975 their daughter Carol and her husband Dick took over and expanded the site, which has stayed in the family since.
