Approach and anchoring

Reached from the upper Chesapeake by the Sassafras River, which carries deep water well past Georgetown. Sassafras Harbor Marina lies 0.1 NM to the NE and Bay View 0.2 NM to the SE, so the reach is busy with marina traffic. The Sassafras has low salinity and is free of sea nettles, unusual for the bay.

Practical

80 berths, of which 10 are transient, plus 10 moorings. Vessels up to 65 ft. Shore power, fresh water, showers and laundry on site. A pool and a sandy beach back the marina. Restaurants, bars and a grocery within walking or tender distance.
