Approach and anchoring

Lies on the western bank of the Wilmington River near ICW green marker 35, a well-marked stretch of the waterway. Approach is straightforward at any state of tide. Call the harbour master on VHF 16.

Practical

Floating concrete docks and a dry storage building. Fuel berth with diesel and petrol. Laundry, restrooms with showers, and a covered patio over the river. River Supply chandlery is a short walk away.

History

Thunderbolt was a shrimping port through most of the 20th century, with shrimp boats berthed several deep along both banks of the Wilmington River. The trawler fleet has since given way to yacht traffic.
