Approach and anchoring
Approach from the east across the bay of Saint-Brieuc, watching the strong spring tidal range of the area. Sand bottom. Sheltered from SW, W and NW winds, fully exposed to the east and to any swell from the bay. Port d'Armor 0.3 nm to the NW and the deep-water marina of Saint-Quay-Portrieux 0.4 nm to the west are accessible at all tides.
Practical
Anchor only, no buoy field. Full services at Port d'Armor and at the marina of Saint-Quay-Portrieux, including diesel, water, electricity and a boatyard with travel lift.
Ashore
Beach of Saint-Quay and seafront promenade along the roadstead. Centre of Saint-Quay-Portrieux with shops, fish market and restaurants at about 500 m from the marina. Coastal GR34 footpath runs through the village north towards the headland of Saint-Quay and south towards Binic.
