Approach and anchoring
Approach from the east across the Rade d'Hyères. Bottom of sand with patches of Posidonia seagrass, use the sandy clearings and avoid dropping on the protected seagrass beds. Sheltered from SW through W to NW winds, fully exposed to the east and the levant swell.
Practical
Anchor only, no buoy field. Water tap available ashore. Port de La Capte 0.2 nm to the NW for provisions and fuel, Port Saint-Pierre 1 nm to the north for a fully serviced berth.
Ashore
La Capte beach runs along the whole anchorage, flat sand backed by pines. Shops and bakeries along the road to Hyères village at about 400 m. The tombolo of Giens and its salt pans start 2 km south, with footpaths crossing the nature reserve.
