Lying in the lee of Big Quamino Rock, the bay is sheltered from west through south to south-east, but open to the north and east. Holding is in sand and mud. Watch the ledges that fringe the rock on the approach.

History
Quamino is the only rock in Cohasset to carry a Native American name, a reminder of the harbour's long use by local fishing vessels.
