Approach and anchoring
Enter the Hérault between the two jetties of Le Grau d'Agde, following the buoyed channel. The yard pontoon sits on the right bank just after the Tamarissière ferry crossing. Beware of the current on the ebb, up to 2 knots after heavy rain inland. Headroom unrestricted, no bridge downstream of the yard.
Practical
Chandlery, winter storage ashore and afloat, 30 ton travel lift, engine and electronics workshop. Diesel at the public Port du Grau d'Agde pontoon 500 metres upstream. Bakery, restaurants and supermarket within 300 metres in Le Grau.
Ashore
Plage de la Tamarissière on the left bank, reached by the free river shuttle from April to September. Réserve du Bagnas, a 561 hectare Natura 2000 wetland, 2 km west by cycle path. Cathédrale Saint-Étienne of Agde in black basalt 4 km upstream, reachable by the riverside path or the summer water bus.
