Tidal harbour at the northern edge of Baie de Bourgneuf, on the Loire-Atlantique coast facing Noirmoutier.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Entrance via the balisé Collet channel, accessible roughly 2 h either side of high water for a 1 m draught. The channel dries at low water springs and carries strong cross currents on the ebb. Two leading marks line up the approach from the west. Radio contact on VHF 9.
Practical
Around 40 berths, mainly for local boats, with a few visitor places. Water and electricity on the pontoons, diesel not available on site. Shops limited to a seasonal bar-restaurant near the port, full groceries at Les Moutiers-en-Retz 2 km inland.
Ashore
Oyster and mussel beds visible at low water across the bay. Coastal path follows the old salt marshes towards La Bernerie-en-Retz. Bourgneuf-en-Retz and its Pays de Retz museum sit 6 km east.
Story
The shore around Le Collet has produced oysters commercially since the 19th century, with the current concessions still worked daily from the harbour.
