Guide
Approach and anchoring
Narrow buoyed channel across the mudflats, workable only around high water. Maximum draught 0,65 m at the berths, boat must sit on the mud at low water. Entry by daylight only, the bay is exposed to westerlies and the flats extend far offshore.
Practical
Quay berths for local oyster punts and a few leisure craft with bilge keels or lifting keels. No marina services. Village of Bouin at 4 km by road for shops and restaurants.
Ashore
Dyke walks along the former salt marshes, Marais breton-vendéen classed as a Natura 2000 site for wintering birds including brent geese and avocets. Port du Bec with its wooden oyster jetties at 3 km by road. Cycle route La Vélodyssée passes the village.
