Approach and anchoring
Freshwater approach, no tides. EDF manages the reservoir and the water level falls from late summer onward, sometimes by several metres. Arrive from the east or west under the Savines bridge. Port du Barnafret monitors VHF 14. Port de la Capitainerie 0.2 NM to the north.
Practical
40 berths for craft mainly under 8 m. Port de la Capitainerie very close for fuel. Savines-le-Lac village shops, bakery and restaurants at about 800 m.
Ashore
Lake promenade connecting Barnafret to Savines-le-Lac centre at 800 m. Savines beach for bathing on the same shore. Road access to the Pointe de Savines viewpoint and onward to the Abbaye de Boscodon forest at about 15 km.
