Small freshwater harbour of 25 berths on the north shore of Lac de Serre-Ponçon, in the commune of Savines-le-Lac, Hautes-Alpes.

Guide

Approach and anchoring

Lake approach only, no tides. Watch the water level which drops sharply in late summer when EDF draws the reservoir down, sometimes leaving shallow edges. Sail under the Savines bridge from the east or west. No VHF required on the lake.

Practical

25 berths for small craft, mainly sailing dinghies and motorboats under 7 m. Basic pontoons. Port de la Capitainerie is 0.7 NM NE for fuel and heavier services. Savines-le-Lac village with shops and bakeries at about 1 km.

Ashore

Lakeside path along the north shore from the port. Savines-le-Lac village centre at about 1 km with supermarket, bakery and restaurants. Savines bridge viewpoint at 1.5 km, a 900 m long concrete span rebuilt in 1960 after the valley was flooded.
