Approach and anchoring
Approach from the open lake, keeping clear of the pont de Savines pylons 500 m to the W. Lake level variation can reach 40 m between spring high and late-summer low, exposing former riverbeds. Port du Barnafret is 0.2 NM to the S.
Practical
Fuel station on site, the main fuel point of the lake. Capitainerie office, water and electricity on the pontoons. Port du Barnafret adjoins to the S, Port de Eygoires 0.7 NM SW for additional capacity.
Ashore
Village of Savines-le-Lac is directly above the harbour, with bakery, supermarket and cafes within 300 m. The pont de Savines, a 924 m post-war viaduct rebuilt in 1961 after the valley was flooded, crosses the lake just W of the port. Musee de Savines and tourist office in the village.
