Approach and anchoring
Inland stretch of the Vilaine, freshwater above the Arzal lock. Pass the Arzal barrage by the lock, operated by the EPTB Vilaine, then navigate about 13 nm upriver. No tidal constraint above the dam. Channel marked.
Practical
Small set of pontoons and moorings. Basic services. Ravitaillement in Saint-Dolay village.
Ashore
Rieux village is 1.6 nm upstream, with restaurants along the quay. Redon, 4.3 nm north, is a confluence town between the Vilaine, the Oust and the Canal de Nantes à Brest, with the Romanesque abbey church of Saint-Sauveur from the 11th century.
