Approach and anchoring
Reached via the Arzal lock. Mud bottom, holding good. Sheltered from NW through N to NE and from W to SW by the wooded riverbanks. No tidal current upstream of the dam.
Practical
No services directly at the mooring. Port de Cran is 3.2 NM to the E and Multi Nautique marina 3.3 NM to the W, both with pontoons, water and fuel.
Ashore
The Vilaine valley is a designated Natura 2000 site. Towpath on both banks for walking and cycling. The village of Béganne lies about 3 km from the north bank with a bakery, grocer and a weekly Sunday market.
