Approach and anchoring
Access from the sea via the Arzal-Camoël lock, which regulates the lower Vilaine and separates salt and fresh water. No tidal constraints upstream of the lock. Channel marked, follow the buoys on the bends. Contact the lock on VHF for opening times.
Practical
Pontoon berths on the river. Boatyard on site with crane, hard standing and winter storage. Diesel on the fuel berth. Water and electricity on the pontoons. Restaurant at Foleux on the quay.
Ashore
Town of La Roche-Bernard 3.5 nautical miles downstream, with market on Thursday mornings, medieval streets and the Musée de la Vilaine Maritime. Vineyards of the Muscadet appellation within 15 km east on the Loire-Atlantique side. Towpath along the Vilaine for walking and cycling.
