Approach and anchoring

Approach from the NW through the buoyed channel between the outer rocks and the Île du Château Neuf, leaving the Île Saint-Gildas to the east. Anchor on sand inside the islet ring. Sheltered from NE through S, exposed to the N and NW where the outer rocks break heavy swell. VHF channel 9.

Practical

Around 319 moorings managed by the commune of Penvenan. Village harbour of Port-Blanc 0.1 NM E with dinghy landing, water and slip. Shops, bakery and restaurants in the village, all within 300 m of the quay.

Ashore

Chapel of Notre-Dame de Port-Blanc, 16th century, stands on the dune behind the beach. Sandy beach of Port-Blanc immediately east of the mooring. GR 34 coastal path follows the granite shore to Buguelès and Plougrescant 4 km east, where the Castel Meur house stands wedged between two granite boulders.
