Approach and anchoring
Reached via the entrance to the port of Fécamp, between two jetty heads on the Alabaster Coast. Entrance exposed to westerly swell, avoid in strong onshore winds. VHF channel 9. The Port de Fécamp marina is 0.3 NM west and acts as the main refuge.
Practical
180 places in dry stack, launch and recovery by travel lift operated by the port. Diesel and petrol available at the fuel berth of the marina. Full services shared with Port de Fécamp including water, electricity, showers, boatyard.
Ashore
Palais Bénédictine, built from 1882 for the liqueur distillery, 600 m from the basin. Pebble beach and cliffs of the Alabaster Coast directly west of the port. Chapelle Notre-Dame-du-Salut on the north cliff, traditional chapel of sailors.
History
Fécamp was a major cod fishing port sending fleets to the Grand Banks of Newfoundland from the 16th to the 20th century. The last Newfoundland cod trawler left Fécamp in 1987.
