Approach and anchoring
Approach from the south-west clear of the Antifer tanker traffic and its reserved zone. Sand bottom. Protected from north-east through south-east, fully exposed to west.
Practical
Port du Havre-Antifer 0.5 nm north for commercial shipping only. Bassin Vauban at Le Havre 9.2 nm south for a visitor berth.
Ashore
Slipway and beach at Bruneval below the cliffs. Memorial to the 1942 British airborne raid on the Würzburg radar station on the clifftop. GR 21 coastal path runs north to Étretat, about 7 km.
History
The cliffs above the beach were the site of Operation Biting in February 1942, when British paratroopers raided the German radar installation and recovered components of a Würzburg set.
