Approach and anchoring
Sand and rock bottom, holding variable. Sheltered from SW, S and SE winds by the chalk cliffs. Fully exposed to the N sector. Strong tidal streams run parallel to the coast. The beach dries at low water and the village has no harbour, only a shingle foreshore where small craft are hauled up.
Practical
No pontoon and no services. Port de Fécamp 2.5 NM to the NE for all facilities.
Ashore
GR 21 sentier du Littoral Normand climbs the cliffs north and south of the village. Étretat and its arches at 6 km west by the clifftop path. Musée Nungesser et Coli in Étretat.
History
Yport was a cod-fishing village in the 19th century and drew painters from the Impressionist circle, including Renoir and Monet, who worked on the cliffs between Yport and Étretat.
