Approach and anchoring
Approach across the open baie de La Baule, wide sandy bay open to the W and SW. Avoid the rocky heads of the plateau du Four to the W. Harbour entrance of Pornichet 0.2 NM SE with a narrow dredged channel, port de La Baule-Le Pouliguen 3.2 NM W inside the étier.

Sand bottom, holding good. Wind protection from N, NE, E, S and SE, fully exposed to W and SW. Water available ashore at the harbour. Pornichet marina has 1150 berths with all services, one of the largest on the Atlantic coast.
Ashore
Nine kilometres of sand beach along the baie de La Baule, accessible on foot from the anchorage via the beach. Town centre of Pornichet at 500 m with shops and the Casino de Pornichet. La Baule seafront 3 km along the beach to the east.
