Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the bay of La Baule, keeping clear of the Pouliguen channel markers to the north. Sand bottom, good holding. Open to the east and south-east, so the swell can build quickly with onshore winds.
Practical
No services on site. Le Pouliguen harbour lies 0.6 NM to the north-west for fuel, water and provisioning. Pornichet marina sits 2.9 NM to the east as a larger fallback with full services.
Ashore
La Baule beach, 9 km long, is reachable by tender. Le Pouliguen old salt-working village is a 15 minute walk from the harbour head, with the Saturday morning market on place de la Duchesse-Anne.
