Approach from the estuary channel watching the strong tidal streams of the Gironde. Mud seabed with holding subject to the current. Shelter from N, NE, E and SE; exposed to winds from the SW quadrant blowing up the estuary with a short steep chop.
Practical
Mouillage forain, no services. Meschers-sur-Gironde 1.4 nm to the SE and Talmont-sur-Gironde 3.5 nm to the SE are the nearest shelters.
Ashore
Les Vergnes beach and the cliffs of Meschers with their troglodyte dwellings carved into the limestone. The medieval village of Talmont-sur-Gironde and its Romanesque church of Sainte-Radegonde stand on a headland further SE.
