Guide
Approach and anchoring
Straight sand coastline with gently shelving bottom of sand, no off-lying dangers. Shelter from N, NW and W winds blowing offshore; fully exposed from SE through SW, which raises short steep seas. Stand off in any onshore breeze. Frontignan Plage lies 3.5 NM SW, Port de Frontignan 3.8 NM SW for refuge.
Practical
Forain anchorage, no services. Tender landing on the beach.
Ashore
Foret domaniale des Aresquiers runs behind the dune, with a footpath along the shore between Frontignan and the Etang de Vic. The etang is a Natura 2000 lagoon with flamingos and waders. Vic-la-Gardiole village, 3 km inland, has the 12th century fortified church of Sainte-Leocadie.
