Approach and anchoring
Entrance oriented SSW between two jetties, approach straightforward from open sea. Swell builds with SE winds. Maximum draught 2.5 metres. Fuel berth at the marina. VHF 9.
Practical
600 berths run by the SPL Occitanie Ports. Diesel and petrol available. Water and electricity on pontoons. Shops and seasonal restaurants along the quays. Sandy beach on either side of the entrance.
Ashore
Frontignan AOC muscat vineyards within 3 km inland, cellars open for tasting on the route du muscat. Old town and Saint-Paul collegiate church 2.5 km north. Coastal cycle path to Sète 6 km west.
History
Frontignan gave its name to the muscat wine cited by Rabelais and Thomas Jefferson, produced under AOC status since 1936.
