Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the middle of the gulf, keeping well north of the buoyed bathing zone fronting the beach. Sand patches between rock and posidonia beds require visual anchoring by eye in clear water; anchoring on posidonia is prohibited under the local arrêté. Protection from W, NW and SW; exposed to E and SE where the swell sets straight in.
Practical
Forain anchorage only, no services on the beach. Port-Grimaud is 1.3 NM SW with fuel and visitor berths; Marines de Cogolin 1.4 NM SW is a second option for a berth ashore.
Ashore
Grimaud village and its medieval castle ruin sit 3 km inland on the hill above the beach. Regular bus line from Beauvallon to Saint-Tropez around the bay.
