Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the centre of the gulf with Saint-Tropez to the SE. The area lies within the ZMEL managed moorings of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, set up to protect the Posidonia meadows. Anchoring is restricted and users must pick up a buoy. Shelter from the west only, open to all easterly sectors and to the prevailing east wind that funnels into the gulf.
Practical
Buoys only, no anchoring on the meadow. Bottom is a mix of sand, posidonia and mud. No services at the mooring. Saint-Tropez harbour is 1.5 NM SE with fuel, water, power and all commerce, Port du Pilon 1.6 NM SE.
Ashore
The Sentier du littoral runs along the whole north shore of the gulf and passes close to the buoy field, linking the Canoubiers beach to the Les Salins beach east of Saint-Tropez. Ramatuelle vineyards of the Côtes de Provence AOC start about 4 km inland.
